About the event

Join us for an empowering workshop series designed exclusively for Black/African Descent women. SISTAS Empowerment Corp invites you to our Dolled Up workshops, a sacred space for self-reflection, growth, and connection. As part of the art presentation during the 2024 Visibly Invisible Gala, these workshops empower women to craft their own Reflection/Spirit dolls and share their personal narratives. Our goal is to collect and showcase 50 or so dolls. Participants will be able to collect their Doll after the event.

Please note that these workshops are exclusively reserved for women who identify as Black or of African descent. In our commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for our participants, we kindly ask that women who do not identify as Black or of African descent not attend these sessions and look out for future events that are open to all. We appreciate your understanding and support.

SISTAS Dolled Up is a unique workshop series designed to guide women through a journey of healing and self-care by creating a doll that embodies their identity and aspirations. It is open to all women and girls from diverse backgrounds, offering a nurturing space for creativity and healing.

Participants will have the opportunity to craft a doll that celebrates their inner and outer beauty, serving as a powerful reminder of their uniqueness and potential. Through this process, women can find closure with their past, embrace the present, and envision their future in a supportive environment.

The Dolled Up workshops foster healing through open discussions about strengths, perseverance, resilience, and personal aspirations.

Join us for an uplifting and transformative experience as we come together to celebrate the beauty and strength of Black/African Descent women.

All supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own.
