About The Event

In Celebrating Woman’s History Month we will Celebrate Black Woman.

You don’t want to miss this event!

Join us for a night of celebration empowerment, healing and self-actualization through the Arts of photography, dance, and fashion, honoring the journey and the complex roles Black woman play in our community and the world at large.

We will be honoring several women who are positive role models and inspirations to our community. Our ceremony will explore the complex roles Black Women play as positive role models and inspirations in their own community and the world at large..We will be honoring these unsung SHEros who, through their resilience, perseverance, and commitment to speaking truth to power, are all empowering warriors fighting for justice and equality for our society and families.

To begin this night, we will be featuring PAALF’s Albina Queens Photo Project in a photo exhibit, Shalonda Menefee’s Spirit Art Dolls, and a marketplace with Black Women Entrepreneurs along with light refreshments from 5pm-6:45pm. The program will proceed at 7pm with the Visibly Invisible: Unsung SHEros Award Ceremony that will include a creative cultural expression of African Dance, an Honoring of Ancestors through a libation ceremony, and an African inspired print fashion show.

5pm-6:45pm: Reception: Marketplace, Silent Auction, Photo & Art Exhibit

The Photography Exhibit will feature PAALFs Queens of Albina Photo Exhibit:

The Albina Queens Photo Project celebrate those who claim, reclaim and/or disrupt traditional constructs of black femininity in its many forms. The images captured in this photography exhibit marks an occasion where black women/femmes were seen, counted, loved and valued. This in and of itself is a political act.

The Artwork featured will be SISTAS Dolled Up Spirit Healing HeArt Dolls.

These Spirit Dolls are made with positive energy and intent, they can promote a positive self-image bringing emotional healing, love and peace energy into your life. Your Healing Heart doll will assist & empower you with love, compassion, inspiration, healing, and light energy. She will penetrate your heart and remind you that you are amazing and you are loved during times of emptiness, loneliness, and discouragement. She will help uplift your spirit and remind you of your greatness, resilience, love, beauty, brilliance, talents, and gifts, magic and purpose.
